How to Cook Asparagus on the Stove

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound asparagus
  • Butter or olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Other seasoning or herbs of your choice

Instructions
 

  • Wash the asparagus well.
  • Cut the base of the asparagus stems.
  • Add some butter or olive oil to a pan and let it simmer on low to medium heat.
  • Add the asparagus stems to the pan. Make sure that you have enough space in the pan to fit all the stems side by side without placing any of them on top of the other.
  • Allow the asparagus to cook thoroughly on each side. You can keep rolling each stem around to a different side while also shaking the pan throughout the process.
  • Let the asparagus cook for about 10 minutes.
  • Remove the asparagus from the pan, season, and serve.
