How to Make Black Frosting with Food Coloring
Preparation time: 5 minutes; Cooking time: 10 minutes; Total time: 15 minutes; Servings: 2
- For the Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp. heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- For the Black Food Color:
- 2 drops of blue food coloring
- 5 drops of green food coloring
- 6 drops of red food coloring
Add softened butter and sugar in a standing mixer bowl, and whisk for a few minutes at low to medium speed until stiff peaks appear.
Add heavy cream, salt and vanilla extract, and whisk until you reach your desired consistency.
In a bowl mix food colors red, green and blue in the ratio as mentioned above and mix well.
Add drops of the prepared black food color in the frosting and gently fold. Keep on adding the food color until you get the desired shade of black.
