How to Make Dumplings with Flour and Water
Preparation time: 10 minutes; Cooking time: 10 minutes; Total time: 20 minutes; Servings: 4 to 6
- 1 cup all-purpose flour sifted
- ½ cup water at room temperature
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter softened
- A pinch salt
Sift the all-purpose Flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Add butter, and mix with your hands to get a crumbly consistency. You can also use a standing mixer or a food processor for this purpose.
Pour in water at room temperature and mix well until you get a soft dough.
Gently knead the dough a few times and place it on a lightly floured workstation.
Divide the dough into 12 or 15 equal-sized small balls and shape each ball into a sphere. You can also shape it into an oval with slightly pointy ends.
Steam these dough balls in a steamer, or drop them in boiling salted water for about 15 minutes or until they fluff up. You can also add them to soups and stews and enjoy!
