How to Cook Green Beans with Potatoes

Preparation time: 5 minutes; Cooking Time: 15 minutes; Total Time: 20 minutes; Servings: 4

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 lb. green beans trimmed
  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • ½ lb. potatoes diced
  • ¼ tsp. Paprika powder
  • ¼ tsp. Allspice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add bacon bits to a large, heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes or until brown and crispy.
  • Add diced onions and cook for three minutes or until soft. Then add garlic and cook for one minute until fragrance.
  • Add green beans, chicken broth, and butter to the pan, stirring everything together. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce heat to medium-low, and allow the mixture to simmer for 20 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  • After 20 minutes, add potatoes and give it a good stir. Cover the pan and cook for another 15 minutes or until green beans and potatoes are cooked.
  • Finally, season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, and enjoy!
