How To Cook Scrapple Without It Falling Apart

Preparation time: 10 minutes; Cooking time: 10 minutes; Total time: 20 minutes; Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 1/4 inch-thick slabs scrapple
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbs unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp paprika powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Pat the Scrapple dry using a kitchen towel. Using a sharp knife, slice the Scrapple into ¼ inch slices. Place the slices over a kitchen towel to remove any leftover moisture.
  • In a shallow bowl or plate, add all-purpose flour, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and set it aside.
  • Place an iron skillet or pan over medium heat and add butter. Let the butter melt away and heat up.
  • Place the scrapple slice in the prepared dry mix so that the mixture coats it completely. Pat the scrapple slice to get rid of excess flour.
  • Place the Scrapple in the pan and fry it for 3 minutes. Now flip the Scrapple and cook on the other side for 3 more minutes or until it gets a golden brown color.
  • Take the Scrapple out of the pan and place it over a kitchen towel to drain excess oil.
  • Serve with your favorite side. Enjoy!
