How to Make Guac with One Avocado

Preparation time: 5 minutes; Cooking Time: 15 minutes; Total Time: 20 minutes; Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 large avocado
  • tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. lime juice
  • 2 tbsp. red onion finely chopped
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp. cilantro chopped
  • A pinch of cumin ground

Instructions

  • Place the avocado on the cutting board, cut it in half, and remove the pit. Scoop the soft green flesh from the skin into a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  • Use a fork to mash the avocado until it reaches your desired consistency. Some people prefer their guac to be smoother, while others like it to be chunky.
  • Squeeze the lemon juice into the bowl and add a pinch of salt, cayenne, and cumin. Mix well to incorporate.
  • Add chopped onion and cilantro, and mix them into the bowl with the Avocado and lemon juice.
  • Taste your guac and adjust the seasoning as needed. You can add more salt, lemon juice, or other ingredients to get it right.
  • Enjoy your fresh, homemade guacamole with your favorite tortilla chips in a burrito or whatever you'd like to serve.
