Using a cast-iron skillet for heating corn tortillas is quick and easy. All you have to do is place the skillet on medium heat. Once it is hot, place a corn tortilla on it and let it heat up. Flip it over and wait for a few seconds until both sides are warmed up. Remember that we have to dry heat the tortillas. Don’t add oil to the skillet.

Also, if you are looking for some char on the tortillas, skip the skillet and reheat them by direct contact with the heat. Use tongs for assistance and heat them up on direct stovetop heat from both sides. This is a great way to heat up tortillas, especially if you like them a little bit on the crispy side.

Another convenient way of heating the corn tortillas is by placing them in the oven. However, it takes a bit more time than the other methods, so if you are patient or not in a hurry, this way works great. All you have to do is stack about four to five corn tortillas and wrap them in aluminum foil. Place them in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. It is a good way to heat up the tortillas in large batches.

One of my all-time favorite and super convenient ways to heat up the tortillas is in the microwave.  All you have to do is stack about five corn tortillas on a microwave-safe plate. Cover the tortillas with a damp kitchen towel. Place them in the microwave and push start. Check the tortillas after every 30-second interval until they are nice and warm. If you are impatient or in a hurry, this is the way to heat up the tortillas. However, keep in mind that the kitchen towel shouldn’t be dripping wet. It should be damp.

So, the next time you feel like Mexican food, be sure to heat up your corn tortillas with one of the methods described above. Buen Provecho!
